FAQs

Why do we love Florence?
Why do we love Florence? Firenze is full of good taste. From excellent shopping to incredible art, there’s something worth seeing around every cobblestoned corner.

What’s the weather like in Florence?
The most popular time to visit Florence is in the summer, but it can get hot! During the warmer months, the temperature can get up to 35℃ (that’s 95℉), so it’s important to bring breathable layers you can move in like loose fitting dresses, skirts, and tops. If you’re planning on visiting Florence during the holidays, it can snow and be chilly, so make sure to bring your winter coat with you if you’re visiting from December to February.

What should gents pack for a trip to Florence?
For the guys, make sure he packs something dressier than his workout gear. There’s an art to Italian dressing, and to look like a local he should bring linen button downs, a blazer for dinner, well-tailored pants, and loafers to fit in with the style scene.

Can I wear jeans in Italy?
Yes, you can wear jeans, but you need to think about where you’re going! While jeans are admittedly a favorite wardrobe staple, it’s not always the best option. We don’t recommend wearing jeans to dinner, and you might want to make sure to be thoughtful when wearing jeans if you’re touring churches. Safe to say, don’t bring your super casual, distressed jeans on this journey.

What do I pack if I'm studying abroad?
If you’re studying abroad in Florence, you’re in for the experience of a lifetime. You’ll spend your days visiting museums and making pasta, so make sure to pack versatile looks that don’t lean too casual. Our associate editor Lucy studied abroad in Florence when she was in college, and she says that from Florence, you’ll travel through all of Europe in a short period of time, so make sure to pack wisely. You’ll need a swimsuit for visiting the beach and a warm winter coat for visiting Christmas markets. Leave no stone unturned, and make sure you leave room in your suitcase for new clothes. The shopping is incredible!
